One of the commandments that I never forget is to “Let no man deceive you by any means.” We have all been deceived at some point in our walk, but as we mature in Christ, we learn to discern with greater spiritual insight. It comes from knowing the word of God and knowing Jesus. We must study the word of God or we will be deceived by those who are lying in wait to do so. A casual knowledge of the word is all the enemy needs to deceive us. With that in mind, I present here a list of things that the word of God says can cause deception in our lives. We should be on the lookout when these things appear, for deception is an awful thing to experience. You think you have light and find out it is darkness. Only Jesus and the understanding of his words can prevent us from being deceived.

Jer. 17:9; How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; Jer. 23:26
